RED MEAT GAMES EXPANDS VIDEO GAME DEVELOPMENT STUDIO IN NOVA SCOTIA, CANADA
HALIFAX, NS, CANADA, October 17, 2017. Red Meat Games (‘Red Meat’) is excited to announce a new office expansion into Halifax, Nova Scotia, that will see more than ten new employees join the Red Meat team through 2018.
The skills and development talents of the Halifax team will complement the capabilities of the existing team in Kitchener, Ontario, to create VR, PC and Console games. The Halifax team is creating a horror-puzzle game, Bring to Light, funded in part by the Canada Media Fund, which is slated for release in 2018 on PC and Console.
“Having lived out East, I knew Atlantic Canada had a strong game development community,” says Keith Makse, Creative Director of Red Meat Games. “By bringing the opportunity to the talent, our team can remain focused on what they do best: making great games.”
The new studio will tap into a diverse talent pool in Nova Scotia. Red Meat will begin to hire ten new senior-level programmers and artists to start building new technologies for their new game Bring to Light, allowing Red Meat to better understand player behavior and creating cutting edge horror techniques.
“Nova Scotia has competitive advantages in gaming and interactive media,” says Laurel Broten, President and CEO, Nova Scotia Business Inc. (NSBI). “At NSBI, we work to match our region’s great talent pool with new companies by taking a hands-on approach in establishing partnerships and recruitment strategies.”
